Speed Meeting

Let's say you've groped people on the Rack or the Locker and you liked them, felt a chemistry, and want to stay in touch. What do you do?

What NOT to do

Don't try to negotiate future get togethers, play dates, followups, etc. with the people on the Rack.

They are in a potentially compromised headspace and situation, and may feel pressured to agree to meet you later, or play, or whatever. It's not the right time. Don't be creepy.

Instead:

I'm groping:

  1. When you come into the space, there will be tables with bits of paper (half index cards), and pens.
  2. Grab a few cards and write some sort of contact information on the card. Fetlife alias, or Discord handle are ideal. Email, phone, etc. are ok.
  3. You can also write something that may help someone remember you: "The guy with the engineer boots", "The girl with the dragon tattoo" or something perhaps memorable.
  4. You're welcome to do this at home before the event if you wish. (Just remember, some people's cups runneth over, so just a small slip of paper, not a novel.)

As you go around the space, if you want to connect with someone, see if they have a Cup. If so, put one of your cards in the cup.

If they don't have a cup, they don't want your contact information. Don't do something creepy like putting your card in their panties. Just move on.

The power to connect lies with the people on the Rack. After the event they will have their cups with papers. If they don't contact you, just move on.

I'm going on the Rack/Locker:

If you wish to have people give you their contact information, grab a Cup. We will have ribbons so you can tie the cup onto you, or put it on the ground, etc. Whatever works for you.

If you don't want contact information, just don't take a cup, people shouldn't be forcing them onto you, and if they do, please contact a monitor.

Lastly, at the end of the event take your slips of paper with you and reach out to whomever you wish. (Or the cup).

We encourage you NOT to try to negotiate anything with anybody while you're on the Rack… just experience it.
